Welcome from Reddit! Thank you so much for reading and engaging. I sincerely appreciate it.

It's helpful to hear what topics are interesting or what approaches are resonating, too, so always feel free to share! I will watch this week's episodes and then share a follow-up. We'll be five weeks into the Netflix series then, so I'm getting a sense of the patterns/trajectory, etc. I'll be curious to hear your thoughts!

Okay I just read this from your repost on Reddit where I was trying to get a layman feel of whether we liked the Netflix version of " pop, the balloon" or not. This is such a brilliant analysis of the YouTube show!

I really loved this "This show thrives in the tradition of African American conversation" What an amazing take . Love your writing and I am now a fan

Welcome from Reddit! Thank you so much for taking the time to read and engage! It means a lot to me.

I watched the first Netflix episode, and it was a pretty uncomfortable viewing experience lol. I plan to review it if I can find the right entry point. It's pretty different! What'd you think?

I believe the rights entry point will be after three episodes once you can establish the pattern of the Netflix version. Then nail down the differences between the Netflix version and the YouTube version and what their strengths and weaknesses are. Then another post would deliver a final verdict and a suggestion of What Netflix should do if they were gonna continue in this format so it produces its own magic, seeing that original cannot be duplicated. Maybe get some viewership numbers or something like that in there. Do a follow-up open letter to Arlette where you're a bit more blunt and...black with what you're thinking. Like for

Me for example I do not want her to feel like a sellout and ring what she has going on with stupidity we saw on Netflix.

But yes, this Netflix version is very different and I really do not like it. Like really, really do not like it. I do like Yvonne Orji though, but she needs to ensure her style needs to still complement and stay out of the way of the contestants. Netflix and the big brains behind the company should put their heads together with Arlette to get this where it needs to be if they're not going to copy the YouTube version. I'd rather her not kill this opportunity with a lackluster show.

This is terrific advice! Thank you for your suggestions. I appreciate you being here as I grow the platform, and I welcome any thoughts on topics you'd like discussed or approaches that resonate.

I have been tuning into both the YouTube and Netflix episodes each week, and I feel ready to return with a follow-up post! I wasn't sure about covering it again, because I got very polarized responses last time, especially on Reddit. It can be more controversial than I expect sometimes!

I'll check out this week's episodes on both and then release another review. That'll be five episodes in for Netflix. Are you still watching the Netflix version?
