Tune in here, Hunters!
Killer Frequency Companion Post
Killer Frequency: A Black diasporic variety seminar for the culturally curious.
The theme for August is All Around the World, and for our final stop, we’re heading to Iran with a Shelf Life episode. Shelf Life is all about literature, because a full life means nurturing our bookshelves!
This week, I’m reviewing The Color Black: Enslavement and Erasure in Iran by Beeta Baghoolizadeh—a powerful examination of the history of Blackness in Iran. I chose this book because it’s the perfect introduction to Iran’s complex history, and Blackness provides such a rich and necessary lens for that journey.
Join me as we close out August with a thoughtful dive into literature, history, and the Black diaspora in Iran.
